Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov has presented an award to Nie Zipei, the Absolute Winner of the 51^st International Mathematical Olympiad. The closing ceremony of the Olympiad was held at the capital`s Independence Palace.

On Monday, July 12 the participants of the 51st International Mathematical Olympiad returned to Astana. At Kazanat hippodrome the guests were performed a show with the participation of the best Kazakhstan riders.

According to these results Kazakh students won 3 gold and 2 silver medals.

The contestants took a tour of the park ‘Zerenda’. The park is known as a beautiful place for recreation and tourism. Medical studies have shown that the air of local forests contain up to 30% of ozone. Zerenda beautiful landscapes, monuments of archeology and history, horseback riding and sailing yacht, souvenirs, made by localcraftsmen, attract the tourists’ attention.

One can enjoy wonderful landscapes if he/she climb up the Big Hill (687 m.), as well as the hills of Smolnaya, Obzornaya, Malinovaya,Girlish tears, Two Brothers and others. You can also contemplate the Troitskaya (Trinity) Canyon, which is located at the springhead of the river Chaglinka.

On June 7, 2010 there was an evening in honor of deputy leaders, observers of the 51st International Mathematical Olympiad at the ‘Shuchinsk’ sanatorium in the picturesque ‘Borovoe’ seaside resort. The quests got acquainted with traditions and customs of the Kazakh people.
